These items were obtained through collaboration with the Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation. Items collected were photographs and documents from businesses, organizations, and individuals in the Austin Vietnamese American community

This collection contains items from the exhibit, “Vietnam to Austin: Restoring Community” showcased by the Austin History Center in partnership with the Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation February 21 - July 17, 2009. It contains news articles about the exhibit, a DVD from the opening reception held on March 7, 2009 as well as documents and photographs collected for the exhibit.
There are various documents dating back from the founding of organizations such as the Austin Vietnamese Senior Citizens Association and Vietnamese American Community of Austin, TX (VACAT). Also, there are writings on the history of The Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church and Linh-Son Buddhist Temple. Also, included are newspaper clippings from the Austin American-Statesman dating from 1970's through 1990's as well as newspaper articles in Vietnamese. In addition, there are oral history transcripts of interviews with Austin Vietnamese Americans. Lastly, there are records, programs, proclamations, and flyers from various events as well as personal records of Vietnamese Americans.
