Biographical note

William Harrison McCullough (1853-1925) was a Presbyterian pastor in Texas. He was born in San Marcos, Texas on June 21, 1853, and attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas and Columbia Theological Seminary in South Carolina. He was ordained on October 14, 1885 by the Paris Presbytery. He served as stated supply throughout Texas: Wills Point and Forney (1886-1887); Pittsburg, Mt. Pleasant, and Winnsboro (1888-1889); Clarksville, Detroit, and Blossom (1889-1890); Anson group (1890-1895); New Boston group (1895-1902); Eliasville and group (1902-1908); Olney (1909-1910); and Throckmorton and group (1911-1917). He was ill in Eliasville from 1918 until his death on August 22, 1925.

The William Harrison McCullough letter documents the events surrounding his removal from the Red Lick, Texas Presbyterian church in 1899.

Materials in accession #2007-009 were originally held at the Montreat office of the Presbyterian Historical Society. They were transferred to the Austin Seminary Archives in 2007.
