Biographical note

William Carnes Dunlap (1817-1886) was a Presbyterian pastor in Tennessee, Texas, and Louisiana. He was born in Maury County, Tennessee on August 14, 1817, attended Lancaster Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania, and was ordained in 1846. He served as stated supply for churches in: Fayetteville, Tennessee (1846-1852); Lewisburg, Tennessee (1852-1853); Centreville and Crockett, Texas (1853-1855); Marshall, Texas (1856-1867); and Thalia Street church in New Orleans, Louisiana (1867-1868). He served as pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Shreveport, Louisiana from 1869 until his death on September 21, 1886.
