John Anderson sermon, 1847
Biographical noteJohn Anderson (1803-1884) was a Presbyterian minister and educator in Clarksville, Texas in the 1800s. He was born in Ireland and preached and taught in New York City, Fincastle, Virginia, and Spring Hill, Arkansas before moving to Clarksville, Texas around 1849 and running the Clarksville Academy. Anderson died in 1884. Scope and Content NoteThis collection is comprised of one typewritten copy of a sermon (1847) preached by Rev. John Anderson at Spring Hill, Texas. The topic of the sermon is Matthew 18:3. Materials in accession #2007-009 were originally held at the Montreat office of the Presbyterian Historical Society.
