Biographical noteThe materials and items contained within the Linda Austin Collection are a result of her mother’s graduation from the Franklin Beauty School in 1944, her father’s driver's license from the 1940s and 1950s, as well as materials relating to his membership in the fraternal order of the Eastern Star. There are also newsclippings, programs, and a directory that chronicles the Acres Homes Community and designates it as an historic community for African Americans.
