Research by Subject - Psychology

Finding articles and books: Databases and Indexes:
Any search of the psychology literature should begin with PsycINFO.
Find out more about it at: APA's site: journals indexed in PsycINFO, info about the Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms used in the database, the classification codes assigned to each citation, and a quick reference guide to the PsycINFO via Ebsco.

Other Psychology databases are in Databases by Subject - Psychology.

Connect to online versions of articles from database search results by 1) clicking the available link to an article (PDF or HTML) or 2) the Find it at UT button.
When there is no online access to the article search for the SOURCE in the Library catalog (that would be the JOURNAL the article is in, or the title of the book that a chapter is in.)

To see this in action, check out the video tutorial in Find Articles and Find Books.

Supplemental databases and indexes can be selected based on your research topic. Select from databases by subject (hint: the ABOUT link describes exactly what each database covers and does). Some examples of the databases in other fields that are of interest to psychology researchers include:

More: the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (4th ed., text revision) or DSM-IV TR is available online through StatRef!.
Recommended Statistics and Demographic sources include: NIMH and the CDC
