Updated monthly. The American Bibliography of Slavic and East European Studies (ABSEES) covers North American scholarship on Eastern Europe, Russia, and the former Soviet Union. It contains bibliographic records for journal articles, books, book chapters, book reviews, dissertations, and selected government publications.

AfricaBib 1974-

Updated regularly. Provides bibliographic access to Africana periodical literature and African Women's literature. Also has a comprehensive bibliography on women travelers and explorers to Africa.

Bibliography of Asian Studies (BAS) 1971-

Updated regularly. Contains records on all subjects (especially humanities and social sciences) pertaining to East, Southeast, and South Asia published worldwide. Includes citations to western-language periodical articles, individually authored monographs (before 1992), chapters in edited volumes, conference proceedings, anthologies, and Festschriften, etc. Corresponds in part to the print Bibliography of Asian Studies.

CIAO Columbia International Affairs Online 1991- Full-Text of publications is available from some of the links supplied.

Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO) is designed to be a comprehensive source for theory and research in international affairs. Includes working papers from university research institutes, occasional papers series from NGOs, foundation-funded research projects, and proceedings from conferences. Also has some journal abstracts, books, links to related web sites, maps and country data.

Declassified Documents Reference System Coverage begins after World War II Full Text documents

Updated regularly. A full-text collection of declassified U. S. government documents. Includes correspondence and memoranda, minutes of cabinet meetings, technical studies, national security policy statements and intelligence reports. Coverage is from the years immediately following World War II through the 1970s. The major domestic and international events of the post-World War II world are covered in information by and for presidents, senators, and congress members.

Digital National Security Archive Coverage begins after World War II, varies with each Collection.

Updated annually. Contains more than 40,000 declassified documents from the National Security Archive, an independent non-governmental institute that collects and publishes declassified documents acquired through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The documents are organized by Collections, providing an archival record concerning important public policy decisions in the area of foreign affairs and national security.

EBSEES European Bibliography of Slavic and East European Studies 1991-

Updated monthly. The EBSEES (European Bibliography of Slavic and East European Studies) covers European scholarship on Eastern Europe, Russia, and the former Soviet Union. It contains bibliographic records for journal articles, books, book chapters, book reviews, dissertations, and selected government publications.

EconLit 1969-

Updated monthly. Subject indexing and abstracts of over 620 journals plus books, dissertations, and working papers in economics. Technical economic topics covered in depth by this index. It also includes Political Economy, International Trade, Economic Development, Labor & Migration, International Finance, Poverty, Multi-national Corporations. Provides selective indexing for economics-related publications issued by the International Monetary Fund, European Union, World Bank, United Nations.

Environmental Issues and Policy Index Dates of coverage varies.

In-depth industry reports for hundreds of industries in Australia, China, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, UK and US in comprehensive standardized format Market research reports spanning all consumer sectors analyzed by country, region, or the global market.

FRANCIS (International Humanities and Social Science) 1984-

Updated monthly. Covers a wide range of multilingual, multidisciplinary information in the humanities (63%), social sciences (33%), and economics (3%). Strong in religion, the history of art, and literature (with particular emphasis on current trends in European and world literature). Indexing covers journal articles, books, book chapters, conference papers, French dissertations, exhibition catalogs, legislation, teaching materials, and reports. Tips: Many subjects are also indexed in French or German terms and use of these terms retrieves different results. Use the French spelling of an organization name for most complete results. Geography (geographie) is an example.

Gerritsen Collection: Women’s History Online 1543-1945 Full-text

A full text collection of books, pamphlets and periodicals reflecting the evolution of a feminist consciousness and the movement for women's rights. Includes publications from Europe, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand. The ASCII text is searchable by keyword and Boolean operators, and records are linked to the corresponding page images, viewable with the Acrobat Reader plugin from Adobe.

Handbook of Latin American Studies 1990-

Updated annually. A bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars. Edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, the multidisciplinary handbook alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities. This is an index/ brief abstract version beginning in 1990.It corresponds to the full text version of the Handbook which is now available on-line from 1936 to the present with a different search capability. Print Edition: Handbook of Latin American Studies 1935- PCL Stacks Z 1605 H23 NO.1 1935 – present. Selective scholarly bibliography of resources published worldwide on Latin America. Evaluations cover books and book chapters as well as conference papers and articles from more than 1,350 social science and 550 humanities journals and conference proceedings. Social Sciences updates appear in odd-numbered years beginning in 1991.

Hispanic American Periodicals Index 1970-

Updated annually. Citations to articles, essays and book reviews relating to Latin America or from Latin American periodicals. Primarily Spanish, English and Portuguese titles. Corresponds to the print index: HAPI: Hispanic American Periodicals Index. Benson Latin American Collection Z 1605 H16 1975 through 1995 ( The 1974 vol. is in BLAC at: Z 1605 H49 1974).

Historical Abstracts 1969-

Updated three - six times a year. Contains citations and abstracts of worldwide literature (excluding the United States and Canada) from approximately 2,100 journals and since 1980, books and dissertations on political, diplomatic, economic, social, cultural and intellectual history and related areas of the social sciences and humanities. Covers history dating from 1450 to the present.

IBZ (Internationale Bibliographie der Zeitschriften-literatur) 1994-

Available only in UT libraries on UT Library Online Stations.
An international bibliography providing access to periodical literature in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Corresponds to the print Internationale Bibliographie der Zeitschriften-literatur. The CD-ROM version is searchable in English. Corresponds to the print Internationale Bibliographie der Zeitschriften-literatur PCL Stacks AI 9 I5 V.1 1965 PT.1 A-F through V.28 1992 PT.2. This is truly a vast worldwide index to periodicals. There is a general listing covering 1896-1974, and more detailed indexing (author, subject, periodical title) beginning in 1965.

Index Islamicus 1906-2000

Updated annually. Indexes worldwide literature in European languages on Islam, the Middle East and the Muslim world. Includes a wide range of periodicals and collective publications, as well as monographs.

Labordoc (International Labour Organisation) Dates of coverage vary. full-text official site

Updated regularly. Contains references to a wide range of print and electronic publications, including journal articles, from countries around the world, on all aspects of work and sustainable livelihoods, and the work-related aspects of economic and social development and human rights.

Laborsta! (International Labour Organisation UN) 1969- full-text official site

A database on labour statistics operated by the International Labour Organization Bureau of Statistics, a United Nations specialized agency which seeks the promotion of social justice and internationally recognized human and labour rights. Includes statistics of employment, unemployment, hours of work, wages, labour cost, consumer price indices, occupational injuries, strikes and lockouts and economically active population estimates and projections. Dates vary on statistic coverage. Tables for some data begin in 1950. Covers world regions as well as all participating nations. (The major exclusions are former soviet republics, People’s Republic of China, Cuba, North Korea).

LegalTrac 1980-

Updated daily. Index of articles from 800 legal reviews and journals and law-related articles from 1000 other periodicals. Full-text articles (some with graphics), 1989-present, from 40 periodicals. Aspects of international law and international relations are covered.

LexisNexis Statistical 1973-

Updated monthly. Provides indexing and abstracts for federal, state, and international statistical publications as well as selected business and professional publications containing statistics. Approximately 20% of the federal statistical publications are available in full text. Includes all content from the American Statistics Index (ASI), Statistical Reference Index (SRI), and Index to International Statistics (IIS). Most of the statistics in the Abstracts section are available on microfiche in the Perry-Castañeda Library Microforms Collection at these call numbers: American Statistics Index - MCFICHE 4900, Index to International Statistics - MCFICHE 4901 and Statistical Reference Index - MCFICHE 4899. Microsoft Excel is required to view some full text documents. Some data on foreign countries is available from the U.S. portion of this index, the American Statistics Index. Most international coverage is available only from 1983 to present through the use of limits which correspond to the print Index to International Statistics Index (PCL Reference Dept HA 154 I544 V.1 through 2001). The full-text is often available in print from the international source; many reports are also full-text in the microfiche set: MCFICHE 4901 CURRENTLY RECEIVED IN Microforms PCL Level 1. These statistics are compiled by international organizations; they are not from the statistical offices of individual countries.

In-depth industry reports for hundreds of industries in Australia, China, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, UK and US in comprehensive standardized format; plus European Market & Media Guide covering all of Europe which gives summary statistics by country for each market sector. Statistics and forecasts are research products of the Euromonitor International.

Monthly Catalog of U.S. Government Publications July 1976-

Indexes the reports and statistics generated by the U.S. government covering international topics such as foreign relations, international trade (with the U.S.), foreign agriculture, migration, treaties, international relations. Topics can normally be searched by country or region. Covers extensively publications of the Dept. of State, Dept. of Commerce, International Trade Administration, CIA, INS, Congress. For publications issued before July 1976 use the printed Monthly Catalog of U.S. Government Publications Z 1223 A18 PCL Reference, which has been issued under varying titles since 1895—complete set in the PCL Reference Dept.

NATLEX (International Labour Office) mostly recent, dates of coverage vary.

A continuously-updated database containing references to over 55,000 national laws on labour, social security, and related human rights, and over 300 laws in full text. Records and texts in NATLEX (National Laws on Labour, Social Security and Related Human Rights Database) are in either English, French, or Spanish. Includes summaries of the provisions of all officially-signed or ratified conventions and agreements. Comprehensive source for international labor law.

OECD SourceOECD 2000- present

Updated weekly. The full-text portal for the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development provides PDF copies of hundreds of reports which can be searched by broad topics or by country. Its many periodicals and annuals provide statistical portraits of all OECD member countries and many of their trading partner countries. Some databases will build spreadsheets. Economic Indicators and some social indicator tables provide annual statistics of the original member countries from 1960 to the present. Most materials correspond to printed publications that are fully-cataloged in UTNetCat. Note that all spelling follows British English conventions.

Papers First 1993-

Updated twice per month. Contains citations to papers presented at worldwide meetings, conferences, expositions, workshops, congresses, and symposia. It covers published information received by the British Library Document Supply Centers. Many of these papers are available through Interlibrary Services, or by payment to The British Library using the FirstSearch Online Ordering Service. Provides indexing for many unpublished papers presented at conferences such as the International Political Science Association, British Economic Association, American Political Science Association, Indian Political Science Association, etc. Covers all disciplines.

PCI Full-Text 1770-1995

Updated annually. Indexes over 10.75 million articles in 3,142 journals. The scope is international and multi-disciplinary, including journals in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and other Western languages. Includes full image of 165 journals and the archive will continue to grow by this amount each year. Includes searching by area studies, by country, by discipline and by topic. Tip: To select more than one item from a drop down menu, hold down Control key (Ctrl) and highlight each selection. This will create a search linked by “OR”.

PolicyFile 1990-

Updated weekly. An electronic database indexing research and publication abstracts in the field of public policy research and analysis. Includes public policy think tanks, university research programs, research organizations and publishers. Where available, access to home pages, electronic mail addresses and fulltext are made available within individual abstracts.

Political Database of the Americas (Georgetown University) dates of coverage vary

The Political Database of the Americas is a non-governmental Internet-based project that provides reference materials, primary documents, comparative studies and statistical data for countries in the Western Hemisphere. Materials are organized by the following themes: Constitutions and Constitutional Studies, Electoral Systems and Election Data, Decentralization, Political Parties, Executive Institutions, Legislative Institutions, Judicial Institutions, and Civil Society. Much of the data collection is facilitated by the Organization of American States and chiefly covers the years from 1984 to the present. The legal documents generally are those that are still in force.

Updated monthly. Provides worldwide coverage of population, family planning, and related health issues, including family planning technology and programs, fertility, and population law and policy.

Population Index on the Web 1986-2000

Comprehensive bibliography of articles, books, working papers and government reports on demographic topics worldwide and in many languages. Prepared by Princeton University’s Office of Population Research. Ceased in 2000. Earlier issues available in JSTOR Population Index 1937-1985. Proceedings First 1993-

Updated twice a month. Provides tables of contents of papers presented at conferences worldwide. Each record contains a list of the papers presented at each conference. It covers published information received by the British Library Document Supply Centers. Many of these papers are available through Interlibrary Services, or by payment to The British Library using the FirstSearch Online Ordering Service.

Russian Academy of Sciences Bibliography 1992-

Updated bimonthly. Describes material on the social sciences and humanities published in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Eastern Europe and other countries. Includes books, manuscripts, dissertations, and articles from more than 10,000 periodicals.

Sage Public Administration Abstracts vol. 25- 1999-

Covers public administration-related publications world-wide. Full abstract version must be checked to obtain the complete journal citation. Corresponds to the print Sage Public Administration Abstracts 1974 to present in Public Affairs Library JA 1 S27; vols 1-6 are also in PCL Stacks.

Women’s Studies International 1972-

Updated semi-annually. Provides bibliographic information drawn from a variety of essential women's studies databases, covering topics such as feminist theory & history, family planning, law, employment, literary criticism, racial/ethnic studies and international feminism.

World Biographical Index 4th Ed. (G. K. Saur)

Contains over 2 million short biographical entries for eminent individuals who lived in North and South America, Western and Central Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania. Each entry contains the name, variations of the name, pseudonymes, the years of birth and death or years mentioned, upation, source quoted (archive, fiche number and page) and bibliographic information about the sources used. The University of Texas Libraries owns microfiche copies of some of the archives containing the complete texts of the biographical descriptions.

World Law Index 1976-1997

Describes the national laws, decrees, decree-laws, and regulations of the Spanish-speaking nations of Latin America plus Haiti, Brazil, the Philippines, Portugal, Spain, and Portuguese-African nations. Includes 29 countries in all.

World Markets Research Centre 1998-

Updated daily. Provides comprehensive country reports, including country risk ratings, daily updates and analysis of the economic, political, legal, tax, operational, and security environments in 185 countries.
