  • The Economic Report of the President
    • The entire current report as well as economic reports from previous years, dating back as far as 1995. Statistical tables in spreadsheet format are also accessible and can be downloaded individually (.pdf) or in their entirety (.zip). The Economic Report of the President is transmitted to Congress no later than ten days after the submission of the budget. The Report includes current and foreseeable trends and annual numerical goals concerning topics such as employment, unemployment, production, real income and the labor force ; annual numeric goals and a program for carrying out program objectives. Supplementary reports can be issued to the Congress which contain additional and/or revised recommendations. Print copies are available at HC 106.5 A272 PCL Ref

    • An official website sponsored by the American Economic Association. The AEA section has jobs and placement information. The EconLit section contains the current list of journals indexed (useful for finding out which issues of a journal have been indexed) and the JEL classification scheme (called Subject Descriptors) which may help identify search terms to use in the EconLit Index.

    • Selected articles are available in PDF format. The site provides an abstract for each selected article.

  • Bank for International Settlements
    • The Bank for International Settlements was established in 1930 to distribute German reparations payments. It is the world's oldest international financial institution and remains the principal center for international central bank cooperation. Its publications are available full-text. Some statistics can also be downloaded as spreadsheets.

    • The Daily Treasury Statements summarize the financial activities of the Federal Government and off-budget Federal entities in accordance with the Budget of the U.S. Government. Available in both PDF and ASCII format. Uploaded daily except for weekends and holidays. The electronic version of the DTS is available three days after its printed paper counterpart. The visual display of the PDF version is identical to its printed counterpart.

  • Economic Census
    • The 2002 Economic Census is underway. The Economic Census profiles the US economy every 5 years, from the national to the local level. 2002 Economic Census forms were sent to 5 million businesses in December. The forms ask for information about business activity during calendar 2002. Sample forms are on-line. The forms were due back February 12, 2003. The 1997 Economic Census Data is available on the site.

  • Federal Reserve Board of Governors
    • Regional economic data and analysis can be found on the web sites of the 12 Federal Reserve district banks. The Federal Reserve Board of Governors site serves as a gateway to the web sites of the individual federal reserve banks. Also links to the Fed's Beige Book , which analyzes the overall economic prospects of each of the districts.

  • Federal Reserve Banks
    • Provided by the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis to provide easy access to information from the Federal Reserve System. At the site, visitors may link to each of the twelve Federal Reserve Banks and Board of Governors via a short list of unique types of information available at each site. A map of the Federal Reserve districts, mailing addresses and phone numbers are also available at the site.

  • Fed in Print - An Index to Federal Reserve Economic Research
    • The Fed in Print site was developed by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco to serve as a database of all Federal Reserve System economic research. Users can search the database by keyword, title, author, Federal Reserve Bank and year.

    • Basic economic statistical data for each country, including: Economic Profile, Aggregative Trends, Energy, Agriculture, Minerals & Metals, Chemicals & Manufactured Goods, Foreign Trade & Aid, Environmental Topics. From the Central Intelligence Agency (other reference publications).

    • Now freely available online, this annual index, a publication of the Heritage Foundation and The Wall Street Journal, presents a portrait of the economic freedom of 161 countries around the world.

  • The Inflation Calculator
    • Created by S. Morgan Friedman. Form adjusts any given amount of money for inflation, according to the Consumer Price Index, from 1800 to 1995. The pre-1975 data are the Consumer Price Index statistics from Historical Statistics of the United States (USGPO, 1975). All data since then are from the annual Statistical Abstracts of the United States.

    • Inomics is an Internet service especially tailored to the needs of economists. At this site you can find job openings for economists, conference announcements, a human-edited directory as well as a database of research papers in economics.

  • Institute for International Economics
    • The Institute for International Economics is a "private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research institution devoted to the study of international economic policy." This web site contains short abstracts and press releases of books published by the Institute. Speeches, testimonies and essays by the staff at the Institute on a variety of international economics issues are also available as is a collection of working papers published since 1994.

  • International Health Economics Association
    • The web site provides information about the association and a searchable directory of health economists. Both eHEAL and HEAL, the electronic and print newsletter of iHEA can be found at the site. The newsletters provide listings of job openings, conferences, calls for papers and new research initiatives. Past issues of both newsletters are available at the site. Also included is a an exemplary collection of links to health economics sites.
