Databases for Linguistics
- Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA) covers 1973 -
present and is updated five times a year. LLBA abstracts and indexes the international literature in linguistics and related
disciplines in the language sciences. The database covers all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. Complete coverage is given to various fields of linguistics including descriptive, historical, comparative, theoretical and geographical linguistics. The database provides abstracts of journal articles and citations to book reviews drawn from over 1,500 serials publications, and also provides abstracts of books, book chapters, and dissertations. LLBA uses a Thesaurus of index terms, providing a hierarchy of subject headings.

The print version is at P 30 P481 1948-2002 in the PCL Stacks -- with the 2003 volume expected sometime in 2008.
This index provides bibliographical references to scholarly publications on all branches of linguistics and all the languages of the world, with the emphasis on non-Indo-European languages and lesser known Indo-European languages. Focus is on linguistic works published outside Western Europe and North-America. The database contains all entries of the printed volumes of Bibliographie Linguistique/Linguistic Bibliography for the years 1993-current.

Catalog to search for the SOURCE (journal title, conference title, book title). Request any items (books, articles, dissertations, etc.) not owned by the Libraries via the

RAMBI don't necessarily interact with UT's licensed journals; to locate materials identified with these free indexes, look for the SOURCE (journal title, book title) in the catalog and if it isn't owned, use
interlibrary loan to request the article or book.
