Recall a book if it is checked out and you need it to complete your paper. Make use of the subject heading link to find additional books. Example: Thomas Edison. Example: mountain climbing

Go to the pull down menu “Research Tools,” the select “Find Articles Using Databases,” then select in left column “Types,” then on the newly loaded page “Biographical Sources.” Lists a variety of sources covering different periods, countries.
GALE VIRTUAL REFERENCE LIBRARY
Go to the pull down menu “Research Tools,” the select “Find Articles Using Databases,” then select databases beginning with the letter “G.” Once into the database, select to search by “Subject (su)”, then put topic in the search box, example: Thomas Edison. Example: tennis.
“Search the News” section: Search for articles in the Daily Texan. Example: The Drag. Search “All News” sources” Example” Tiger Woods.
“Research People”: search for biographical information. Example: Tiger Woods
“News” bar in the left column, then select: “College & University,” then “Sources”: search news about college life, academic life in general. Example: binge drinking
OPPOSING VIEWPOINTS RESOURCE CENTER
Provides full text access to differing points of view on current social issues. Offers viewpoint articles, contextual topic overviews, government and organizational statistics, biographies of social activists, court cases, profiles of government agencies and special interest groups, newspaper and magazine articles, as well as links to more than 1,800 reviewed and subject-indexed web sites.
