Dissertations and Theses: Full Text - Contains more than 2 million doctoral dissertations and master's theses.

Web of Science (Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge) - Covers more than 12,000 journals in all subject area. Also includes citations to conference proceedings.

Communication:

Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts - Contains abstracts to the world's published literature on the nature, use, and teaching of language as well as linguistics, speech, communication, and related topics.

Communication and Mass Media Complete - Provides indexing for some 400 periodicals, including full text for over 200 titles, in areas related to communication and mass media.

PsycINFO - Covers the professional and academic literature in psychology and related disciplines including: anthropology, business, education, law, linguistics, medicine, nursing, pharmacology, physiology, psychiatry, and sociology.

Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection -  Covers topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods.

MD Consult - Designed for clinical practitioners, providing practical and time-saving features that let you quickly access the precise information you need.

Education:

ERIC - Provides a digital library of education-related resources.

Engineering:

IEEE Xplore - Provides full-text access to IEEE and IEE journals, conference proceedings, and current IEEE standards covering electrical and computer engineering, electronics, computer science, and physics.

Compendex - Contains more than 11 million citations with abstracts from more than 4,500 journals, reports and conference proceedings covering fields of engineering and technology.

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is the professional, scientific, and credentialing association for more than 150,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists, speech-language pathologists and speech, language, and hearing scientists.

NIDCD: National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders

Established in 1988, NIDCD is mandated to conduct and support biomedical and behavioral research and research training in the normal and disordered processes of hearing, balance, taste, smell, voice, speech, and language.

Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences

The ANCDS mission's is to "promote quality service to persons with neurologic communication disorders by developing training guidelines for preparation of speech-language pathologists for clinical practice with this population, developing standards for clinical practice of speech-language pathologists with this population, and to develop the standards and provide the means to certify clinical specialists in this area of practice."

Neuroscience @ NIH

The NIH is home to one of the largest neuroscience research centers in the world. Over 150 laboratories, originating from eleven different Institutes, conduct research in the basic, translational, and clinical neurosciences.

Academy of Aphasia

The Academy of Aphasia is an organization made up of researchers who study the language problems of people who have neurological diseases. Some of these researchers also provide clinical services to help people improve their language skills following strokes or other illnesses. Although this web site is primarily for the service of members, we have provided a few links containing general information for people with aphasia.

American Auditory Society
