Option 1:  Use the News Tab to do a general news search

Option 2:  Limit your search to US news sources or newswires
  • Choose the News tab, select Newspapers & Wires from the dropdown menu, then enter your search terms. Next, choose one or more categories from the Select Source(s) menu. The default date range is all available dates, but you can narrow it down if you get too many results.
  • Try the following categories under “Sources” :
    • US Newspapers & Wires limits your search to U.S. titles, including the Austin-American Statesman and the Houston Chronicle.
    • Major Newspapers searches over 40 full-text newspapers from around the world, including the U.S.  These newspapers are generally regarded as those giving the most comprehensive and reliable coverage of any topic.
