Databases allow you to search for newspaper articles on a topic. Start with one of the following:
InfoTrac Custom Newspapers, dates of coverage vary:
Find articles from over 100 newspapers, including the New York Times (back to 2000) and the Austin-American Statesman (back to 1996). Full-text. (See a list of sources.)
LexisNexis Academic, dates of coverage vary:
Find articles from campus, local, national and international papers. Full-text.
Choose the News tab, enter your search terms, then choose a category from the Sources dropdown menu. (Click the "I" next to your selection to learn more about that source.) After you've selected a source, be sure to choose an appropriate date range – the default is the previous three months.

Where can I read today’s paper?
You can read many current newspapers online from their web sites.
Library Press Display lets you read the last 60 days of 300 national and international newspapers online. The libraries also subscribe to numerous newspapers. See a list of newspapers in the main newspaper collection at PCL.
Where can I find historical newspapers?
Some historical newspapers are available in full text through library databases. See Historical Newspapers databases for these newspapers, including the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post and the Dallas Morning News. For most historical newspapers, however, you will have to use an index to locate articles on your topic and find the full-text using microfilm. Ask a Librarian for help.
