The Signature Course faculty toolkit was created to lead you directly to the most valuable resources for integrating information literacy into your class curriculum. By browsing the toolkit, you will notice how different types of resources can complement the different assignments and goals of your class.
Browse the toolkit by a list of topics, types of resource, or learning outcomes. You can also search the toolkit by keyword, which searches the description of the resources, as well as the title of the resource, and the link name.
The entry for the individual resource lists information about that resource, including a description as well as a link (if available) to download that resource. You'll also notice that within each entry (and much like library catalog subject headings) you can click on a similar category, type, or learning outcome to visit similar items.
You may also notice a link in the upper-right corner of some detail pages, giving you the option to Request a Tailored Version. This allows you to communicate with someone in Library Instruction to create a course-specific resource for your class. We ask that you provide some information about yourself and your class so that we can be prepared to collaborate with you.
If you don’t see a Request a Tailored Version link on a resource page, but you would like to use it in your class, contact us and we can help integrate it into an assignment or exercise.
Separate or in conjunction with any of the resources within the toolkit, you can request an instruction session, research guide, or assignment. In each scenario, again, we ask that you provide some information about yourself and your class, so that we can get in touch with you to discuss a collaboration and how best to integrate information literacy into your course.
The Signature Course Faculty Toolkit is also a place to see what other resources faculty have used and how they have integrated information literacy in their courses. Each Faculty Example describes how a faculty member integrated information literacy into his or her course and includes links to the tailored resources used.
