The University of Texas

Description: This seminar required that a different student abstract a reading each week and use that reading and background information to generate discussion questions for the class. The Find Background Information worksheet and guide facilitated finding and using background information. The culminating project for the class was a field research project. Students conducted original field research and found scholarly and non-scholarly resources about one dimension of time. The final paper required that students explain how the dimension of time is reflected in the popular press and reflect upon how their fieldwork results contradicted or were supported by the scholarly sources they discovered.
