UGS 302: Time Matters
Professor Dawna Ballard

Description:
This seminar requires that a different student abstract a reading each week and use that reading and background information to generate discussion questions for the class. The Find Background Information worksheet and guide facilitates finding and using background information.

The culminating project for the class is a field research project. Students will be conducting original field research and finding scholarly and non-scholarly resources about one dimension of time. The final paper requires that students explain how the dimension of time is reflected in the popular press and reflect upon how their fieldwork results contradict or were supported by the scholarly sources they discovered.

Learning Outcomes:
These assignments meet all of the Information Literacy Learning Outcomes adopted by Undergraduate Studies.
