UGS 303: Thinking about Thinking in the Disciplines
Dr. Cassandra Delgado Reyes and Dr. Susan Harkins

Description:
In this class, students work in groups on a Meeting of the Minds project where they explore the controversial topic of illegal immigration. Each group is required to find and evaluate five sources to inform their viewpoint. Students will use the research guide to begin finding sources to support their viewpoint, keeping track of their research using the research log. For each source selected, they will fill out and turn in a Source Evaluation worksheet which requires that they critically evaluate each source. A Librarian from Library Instruction Services is also a course builder for the Blackboard site and will answer reference questions on a discussion board throughout the semester.
