Libraries, Corporations and Organizations

This service can be used by Non-OCLC member institutions and libraries. Most Texas public libraries and college level libraries may use this service free of charge.

Requests & Registration

Complete our online First Time User form to receive a Login ID for an ILS Account. Once completed, you will receive an email with your assigned username and a temporary password.

After you have registered, you may submit loan and copy requests using our Lending Login online request form.

Copyright Compliance must be indicated on all article requests. If you do not have copyright compliance, we may be able to purchase permission on your behalf, adding the cost of compliance to the standard charges.

Loan periods are 84 days with no renewals.

Borrowed materials must be returned in a box. Please do not return The University of Texas at Austin items in Jiffy™ bag padded mailers.

Fees, Payment & Delivery

Charges vary depending on institution type.

Corporations and Organizations
Articles $25.00 per article up to 50 pages long, plus
  • A copyright fee will be charged if we are purchasing permission on your behalf.
  • For same day service, please contact us for availability. Additional charges may apply.
Loans $30.00 per loan.
Billing The invoice will be included with the material, unless otherwise specified. We accept Visa/MasterCard, bank checks in U.S. Dollars and IFLA vouchers. Please contact our office for direct deposit instructions and account information.
Checks must be made payable to The University of Texas Libraries, The University of Texas at Austin.
There is no charge for unfilled requests.
Delivery
  • Articles are sent electronically.
  • Loans can be delivered via USPS, UPS™ or FEDEX™.
    (Standard shipping for corporate loans is UPS™ Ground.)
  • ALL international loans ship USPS Priority Mail International.
Public and Academic libraries
* Most Texas public libraries and college level libraries may use this service free of charge.
Articles $20.00 per article or chapter scanning up to 50 pages long.
$5.00 surcharge for RUSH processing.
Loans $20.00 per loan.
$10.00 surcharge for RUSH processing.
Billing and Payment
  • Use of OCLC's ILL Fee Management (IFM) is preferred.
  • If IFM is not used then an invoice will be sent with the material. Checks must be written in U.S. dollars drawn on a member bank of the Federal Reserve System.
  • MasterCard™ and Visa™ accepted.
  • For the convenience of libraries outside the United States, we will also accept International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Vouchers.
Checks must be made payable to The University of Texas Libraries, The University of Texas at Austin.
There is no charge for unfilled requests.
Delivery
  • Articles are sent electronically.
  • Loans can be delivered via USPS, UPS™ or FEDEX™.
  • ALL international loans ship USPS Priority Mail International.

In most cases, requests placed before noon (CST) will be ready to ship the same day. If you would like an item by a certain time, please note the time and date on the request. We will inform you if we are unable to fill the request.

If you would like an expedited service level of shipping, please let us know.

Non-circulating Materials
  • Audio/Visual materials —including:
    • music CD's, LP's or cassettes
    • DVD's
    • VHS tapes
    • Some CD-ROMs
  • Bound or current serials
  • Special collection materials
  • Original newspapers
  • Rare or archival materials
  • Items in poor or fragile condition
Items that cannot be copied
  • Items in poor or fragile condition
  • Books in their entirety
Collections, Libraries & Archives

  • The Dolph Briscoe Center for American History is a closed archival collection at The University of Texas at Austin. We can provide copies and loans of certain materials but it will often take longer than the stated turnaround time.If you would like to place requests directly through the The Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, you may do so by email at cahref@uts.cc.utexas.edu or by phone at (512)495-4532.   • The Library Storage Facility is an off-campus repository. We can provide copies and loans of certain materials but it will often take longer than the stated turnaround time.
Electronic Holdings, Internet Resources & E-Books
Some of our licensing agreements allow us to fill ILL requests using electronic subscriptions.
We are unable to fill any requests from corporations and international libraries using our electronic holdings.
