Document Express for Individuals

Document Express provides copies of UT Austin materials to individuals requesting information for personal or academic research.

This service may not be used by libraries, corporations, organizations, or UT Austin patrons.

Requests

This service is for article requests only. We do not loan books to individual requestors. To request a loan please contact your local public library or university interlibrary services department.

All patrons must confirm that any copies we provide will be used exclusively for personal or academic research.

We do not authorize reproduction and distribution of any copies we provide.

Please submit copy requests using our online request form for Document Express.

Fees, Payment & Delivery

All payments, including checks, must clear before the article can be delivered.

Fees for Individuals
Scanning
  • $6.00 USD per article, plus
  • 20¢ per page.
Sales tax will be charged to patrons residing within the State of Texas.
There is no charge for unfilled requests.
Payment Payment can be made by Visa™, MasterCard™, money order, or check.
We do not accept money transfers, wire transfers, or online payments.
Checks must be made payable to The University of Texas Libraries, The University of Texas at Austin.
Delivery Documents will be delivered electronically along with your receipt.

Items that cannot be photocopied
  • Books or dissertations in their entirety
  • Items in poor or fragile condition
Collections, Libraries & Archives

  • We do not provide copies from the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center. To request copies from this branch, please contact them directly by email at reference@hrc.utexas.edu or visit their web site for more information at http://www.hrc.utexas.edu.
  • The Dolph Briscoe Center for American History is a closed archival collection at The University of Texas at Austin. We can provide copies and loans of certain materials but it will often take longer than the stated turnaround time.If you would like to place requests directly through the The Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, you may do so by email at cahref@uts.cc.utexas.edu or by phone at (512)495-4532. The website for the archive collection is at http://www.cah.utexas.edu.
  • The Library Storage Facility is an off-campus repository. We can provide copies and loans of certain materials but it will often take longer than the stated turnaround time.
Electronic Holdings, Internet Resources & E-Books
  • Licensing restrictions prevent us from supplying materials from digital resources.
