Library Storage Facility Article Request

Electronic Delivery of Articles from the Library Storage Facility

Use the InterLibrary Services (ILS) Article Request Form to request individual journal articles from the Library Storage Facility (LSF) located at the Pickle Research Campus (PRC). Staff will scan articles and deliver them electronically. Electronic delivery of storage articles through ILS is available to borrowers affiliated with the University of Texas at Austin, including:

  • Currently enrolled students
  • Faculty and Emeritus Faculty
  • Staff
  • Currently enrolled Distance Learners

For books at LSF or any items at the Collections Deposit Library (CDL), proceed with the Request button in the catalog.

CDL Items are not available for scanning at this time.

Other borrowers may request bound journal volumes from storage by using the Request button in the Library Catalog or by submitting a manual request at a Circulation/Check Out Desk.

How to Request Storage Articles through ILS

To request articles in journals at the Pickle Research Campus' Library Storage Facility through ILS, log in to your ILS account (if you do not have an account, log in and you will be prompted through the steps to create one). Use the Article link on the menu at the left to pull up the Article request form.
Article Request

  • Fill in the article citation and submit the request.
    • It is not required, but would be extremely helpful if you include the UT Libraries call number in the call number field and put LSF in the Location field.
    • Please submit only one article request per form.
  • When the article is available, you will be notified by email:
    • Copies are posted to the web for instant retrieval in PDF format.
    • You can log in to your ILS account and select the Electronically Received Articles link from the menu on the left.

If you need more than two articles from a journal volume, please request the bound volume by using the Request button in the Library Catalog.
