These stations are not available via the Waiting List reservation system and scanning has priority. Consult staff if the scanning stations are all in use, but are not being used for scanning. We also have two KIC scanners in the Periodicals Room (PCL 2.400) that can scan text very rapidly.

Waiting List

Use the Waiting List during peak demand for assignment to the first available workstation.  Sign in with your EID and then walk to one of the Waiting List display panels to watch for your assignment.  Our workstations are numbered and located in the Lobby and Reference Room.  Once assigned, you will have five minutes to claim your station.

Computer Help Desk

The Computer Help Desk (CHD) is located inside the Reference Room (PCL 2.200). Staff members troubleshoot computer problems, assist with accessing the PCL's wireless network, and help with printing issues.

The Computer Help Desk also contains a collection of CD-ROMs and book-related DVDs. These items are listed in the Library Catalog with the location "Computer Help Desk PCL 2.200." Ask a Computer Help Desk staff member to retrieve these materials.

File Recovery Site

If you have saved documents to the desktop of one of our workstations and the station is occupied, use the File Recovery Site to gain remote access to the station to re-claim your document. Log in to the site with your EID and enter the number of the workstation.
