Q - Who may apply for a PCL locker?
Students currently enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin are eligible for locker assignment. Students who were enrolled and completed the previous spring semester are eligible for summer assignment even if they are not enrolled for the summer.

Q - When can I get a locker?
Lockers are assigned at posted times during the second week of each semester, and thereafter on Wednesdays between 10am and 4pm. Specific times are posted at the PCL Checkout Desk before the start of each semester.

Q - Where do I sign up for a locker?
During the initial assignment period at the beginning of the semester, in PCL 1.300: on the first floor of PCL at the desk in front of the InterLibrary Service office. During the semester, lockers are assigned in PCL 2.122 behind the PCL Checkout Desk. Bring your UT ID card.

Q - What can I keep in my locker?
PCL lockers are intended to be used for storage of personal belongings and checked-out library materials. You should not store personal computers, electronic equipment, or valuable personal property in student lockers. The Libraries and The University of Texas at Austin assume no responsibility in the case of loss or damage to personal items. Food or drink should be stored only in closed or sealed containers.

Q - Can I keep library books that I don't want to check out in my locker?
No! You must check out any library books that you want to keep in your locker. Library staff routinely inspect and remove all library materials not properly checked out. If unchecked-out materials are found in your locker, you lose the locker and you may not re-apply before the following semester.

Q - Do I use my own lock?
No. Combination locks are installed in the lockers. Library staff will not disclose to others a student's locker number, location, or lock combination.

Q - How long can I keep the locker?
Lockers are assigned for the semester. You may renew the same locker twice.

Q - When do I renew my locker?
Between the first day of finals and the third class day of the next semester. Signs are posted and emails sent well in advance before the end of each semester.

Q - What happens if I don't renew my locker?
If you don't renew your locker, the combination will be changed and the locker will be assigned to someone else the following semester.

Q - What happens if I don't renew but leave stuff in my locker?
Library items left there will be checked in and other personal items will be disposed of according to University procedures for the disposal of abandoned property.
