A history of the University of Texas Libraries


This six level public access library (located at the corner of 21st Street and Speedway Street) contains approximately three million volumes and serves as the University's main library. Most of the books available for loan are found on Levels 3-6, which are accessible by stairs or elevators.The library is open to the general public, but a valid UT ID or Courtesy Borrower Card is required to check out materials.
