Environmental Policy

    BIOSIS Previews
    Covers original research reports and reviews from approximately 6,000 journals in biological and biomedical areas. Coverage includes traditional areas of biology such as botany, zoology, and microbiology, as well as related fields such as biomedical, agriculture, pharmacology, and ecology. Also included are interdisciplinary fields such as medicine, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering, and biotechnology

    Provides abstracting and indexing information for over 1000 titles in the area of environmental policy and studies.

    NEPIS (National Environmental Publications Information System)
    Provides full text access from a collection of over 7,000 archival and current documents published by the Environmental Protection Agency. Allows searching, viewing, and printing, including full images of all original pages and full-text. Includes documents that are no longer available in print form.

Health Policy

    Health Reference Center
    Provides over 160 full-text journals in medicine, nursing, allied and consumer health. Includes full-text reference books, pamphlets, overviews of clinical topics, and indexing and abstracts for over 1500 additional titles covering patient and consumer health information.

    NLM Gateway
    A Web-based system that lets users search simultaneously in multiple retrieval systems at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). It allows users of NLM services to initiate searches from one Web interface, providing "one-stop searching" for many of NLM's information resources or databases. Includes content from AIDSLINE (focuses on research, clinical aspects, and health policy issues related to AIDS or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), (BIOETHICSLINE (covering ethics and related public policy issues in health care and biomedical research), and HealthSTAR (covering the published literature on health services, technology, administration, and research).

    Index of articles from 800 legal reviews and journals and law-related articles from 1000 other periodicals. Full-text articles (some with graphics), 1989-present, from 40 periodicals.

    Provides both full-text and abstracts for a wide range of general-interest wire services, newspapers and magazines from around the world, including full text of the New York Times. Also provides access to company profiles and financial reports, government transcripts, trade journals and academic and legal databases.

    Provides an index to Federal Reserve economic research and publications. Articles cover all aspects of the economy.

    Declassified Documents Reference System
    A full-text collection of declassified U. S. government documents. Includes correspondence and memoranda, minutes of cabinet meetings, technical studies, national security policy statements and intelligence reports. Coverage is from the years immediately following World War II through the 1970s. The major domestic and international events of the post-World War II world are covered in information by and for presidents, senators, and congress members.

    Provides access to information, including Congressional Indexes from 1789 to the present, produced by or pertaining to the United States Congress. Provides full text for many titles, generally from the early 1990's to the present. Includes legislation and public policy, statistical information (including projections and analyses), legislative history, and federal regulations. Provides information about the members of Congress and their legislative activities, including voting and financial records as well as members of various congressional committees.

    LexisNexis Congressional Research Digital Collection
    Provides full text access to the Congressional Research Service reports (2004-present) and to Congressional Committee Prints (1830-present). This content is offered as part of the LexisNexis Congressional database.

    The online publications portal of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Comprises 20 Studies by Themes for monographs and reports; 24 periodicals online; some reference titles online; and the OECD statistical databases online.

    Updated daily. An online collection of over 3,000 World Bank documents. Consists of over 1,400 World Bank publications and over 2,000 Policy Research Working Papers.

Statistics

    Global Development Finance Online
    Provides a comprehensive view of prospects from the global economy along with the implications for developing countries' external finance. Presents detailed data for 137 countries that report public and publicly guaranteed debt under the World Bank Debtor Reporting System. Internal debt stocks and flows, major economic aggregates, and debt restructuring are provided for 1970, 1980, 1990, and 1993 through 1999.

    International Financial Statistics

    Provides statistics on all aspects of international and domestic finance. Provides users with time series data of major economic aggregates used in economic analysis. The IFS reports, for most countries of the world, current data needed in the analysis of problems of international payments and of inflation and deflation, i.e., data on exchange rates, international liquidity, international banking, money and banking, interest rates, prices, production, international transactions, government accounts, and national accounts. Contains data from 1945 until the latest current month data has been released for (there is usually about a 2 month lag time).

    Provides indexing and abstracts for federal, state, and international statistical publications as well as selected business and professional publications containing statistics.

    Los Angeles Times
    Provides comprehensive coverage for Southern California's largest daily newspaper. Each issue is fully indexed and each article receives an abstract of up to 75 words. Thousands of full text articles are available in the ASCII format.

    New York Times (1851 – 2003)
    Includes all the articles published since the first issue of the paper in 1851. Provides full text and full image articles with digital reproductions of every page, every article and every issue in PDF format.

    TexShare Custom Newspapers
    Provides full-text access to over 100 newspapers, including titles of local interest like the Austin-American Stateman and the Houston Chronicle.

    World News Connection
    Contains materials provided to the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) by the Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS). The reports are full text, English translations of foreign news sources and information. Many of the materials are copyrighted. Particularly effective in its coverage of local media sources. Compiled from thousands of non-U.S. media sources.

Dissertations

    Dissertation Abstratcts International / Digital Dissertations
    Contains more than 2 million doctoral dissertations and master's theses. Provides full text for many dissertations and theses, including most done after 1997. All subject areas are covered. The database includes more than 90 percent of the doctoral dissertations accepted each year in North America with selective coverage for other parts of the world. Each dissertation published since July 1980 includes a 350-word abstract written by the author. Master's theses published since 1988 include 150-word abstracts.
