Harris, Kara D.H.
Report 2001 H2421 Public Affairs Library.

Consumer concern over Internet data privacy is growing in America. This report examines the basis of American's right to privacy and past attempts to regulate Internet data collection. It explores the differing viewpoints of policymakers, consumers, and privacy advocates regarding government regulation of the Internet and looks at international implementations of such laws. The report concludes by outlining the aspects necessary to achieve a successful data privacy statute in the U.S. and recommendations for personal privacy protection in the interim.
