This report will examine the salary compensation for members of the Texas Legislature, as well as the possible uses of the legislative per diem reimbursement. Issues such as campaign spending, campaign finance reform and comparative salary amounts for state legislators will be addressed. This is intended to be a comprehensive study on the Texas Legislature in how the members use their campaign/officeholder accounts and per diem reimbursements with regards to their salaries. The report will also address if Texas should have a professional legislature with full-time salaries, or if the citizen legislature should be maintained.
