Equipment/Study Areas

Computers: Three PCs (UT EID access only) provide access to the online catalog, electronic resources and the internet. 1 computer connects to the library catalog only (no internet access).

Books: Open, browsable stacks; books are shelved by Library of Congress call numbers. New books are shelved at the end of the 1st range, nearest map cabinet.

Journals: Current journal issues are located at the front of the library, near the tables. All bound journals are shelved alphabetically by title, in rear compact shelving unit, continuing into stack area on the last range.

Reserves: Reserve books are located on the table next to staff office. Materials do not circulate and are library-use only. Use of materials must be recorded on clipboard.

Library Storage Facility: Some older journals are located at UT Austin's Library Storage Facility located in Austin. Holdings are indicated in the online catalog and can be retrieved for checkout.

Book drop off bin: Located in library directly across from entrance doors.

Copiers: The copier is located outside the staff office door. UT patrons are provided a code and all others need to ask library staff for assistance (non-UT patrons pay $.10 per page).

Study areas: 2 group study rooms (rare book room and other w/ data ports); 3 double-sided carrels; 2 small tables near current reading area and several individual lounge chairs.
