Financial Institutions
SNL Financial profiles and reports on over 20,000 U.S. financial institutions including publically-traded banks, private institutions and credit unions. It provides real-time news and alerts on the industry, as well as in-depth industry research. SNL reports include peer analytics, depository interest rate reports, branch analytics and mapping. An interactive mergers and acquisitions tool allows for screening on past details and creation of models for potential deals.

Real Estate
SNL Real Estate combines real-time news, in-depth data and expert research on real estate companies traded on stock markets around the world. Coverage includes over 800 companies, 140,000 properties in 38 countries. Company Briefing Books on each company highlight the specific financial information unique to the real estate industry. Detailed property information including sales prices, debt, occupancy rates, and property maps with satellite images is also included.

Create a profile
In order to access SNL, you will need to create your own user profile using an email address that includes the “” domain [e.g.,,]. Addresses from other domains [e.g.,,,] will not be accepted.

When logging in you will be able to select industry preferences. Preferences affect the type of news and reports that are shown on the main SNL page. You can change you preferences at any time by selecting Preferences, My Preferences from the black navigation bar.

By default, SNL emails news alerts multiple times per day. To unsubscribe from the alerts, go to Preferences, My Preferences, Alert Preferences and select “Do Not Send Me Any E-mails” from the Email Delivery Preferences box.

SNL has an Excel add-in that allows you to pull data in directly from the SNL database. The add-in provides standardized templates, or you can create your own model. To download, go to the black navigation bar and click on “SNLxl Add In”.
