WorldCat@UT is single interface for searching across all kinds of different library resources. It includes books, journals, DVDs, CDs, maps, musical scores, media, government publications and more. It also includes aticle citations from ArticleFirst (articles from a wide range of journals in all subjects), British Library Serials, ERIC (education), MEDLINE (medicine and health) and GPO (U.S. government publications). Citations from MLA Bibliography, H.W. Wilson and EBSCO databases will be added as agreements are reached with data providers. Find it @UT links help locate the full text.
How is it different than other versions of WorldCat?
WorldCat is an online union catalog describing the collections of thousands of libraries around the world. It is built and maintained collectivily by the participating libraries. Containing more than 90 million records describing over 1.2 billion physicial and digital assets, it is a powerful discovery tool. For many years, researchers at the University of Texas have used WorldCat to locate materials at other libraries.
WorldCat@UT is a customized version of WorldCat.org branded with our library's color, logo, and links. When you do a search, you will always see information about University of Texas Libraries' collections and links to our services first.What are the special features of WorldCat@UT?
WorldCat@UT allows you to place holds or request materials through Interlibrary loan. It also provides links to full text content with our Find it@UT service. If you create a free WorldCat user account, you can also save the record for an item on a list of favorites, write a review, or link to the item through various online bookmarking services (such as Digg and Del.icio.us). You can also mark, save and email citations, or export individual citations or lists to RefWorks or EndNote. WorldCat@UT provides links to Amazon or other third parties if you wish to purchase your own copies. Finally, it allows you choose the interface language: Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, or Spanish.
