  1. Reconciliation in Rwanda - Stories of Rescue

    In English, French and Kinyarwanda. In the aftermath of 20th century genocides, many stories that were told by survivors described “bystanders” and rescuers as well as the perpetrators who tortured and killed helpless victims. The survivors of Rwanda’s 1994 catastrophe likewise identified countless individuals who risked their own lives to save others. Increasingly, the stories of heroic rescuers, including many who died as a result of their courageous efforts, are documented and widely appreciated for their educational and inspirational value. The website includes text transcripts of testimonies by survivors.

  2. Sierra Leone Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Report

    In English. Funded by the Open Society Initiative of West Africa (OSIWA). Site contains complete report for download of the Sierra Leone Truth & Reconciliation Commission's investigation of abuses during the Sierra Leone civil war. There are also versions of the report for high school students and children. Government has ignored or rejected recommendations; there is also a lack of government funding.

Formed in 2003, YIHR aims to provide protection for the victims of violations of human rights, establish new connections between the post-war generations and enhance the participation of youth in the processes of transitional justice by promoting the truth about the wars in the former Yugoslavia. Site contains reports and newsletters for download, news, press releases, information on programs, and individual pages for YIHR offices.
