    In Bulgarian and English. Formed in 1992, the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee is a non-governmental organization that aims to promote respect for the human rights of every individual, to stimulate legislative reform to bring Bulgarian legislation in line with international human rights standards, to trigger public debate on human rights issues, to carry out advocacy for the protection of human rights, and to popularise and make widely available human rights instruments. FIDH aims at obtaining effective improvements in the protection of victims, the prevention of human rights violations and the sanction of their perpetrators worldwide. Focuses on human rights defenders, international justice, terrorism, death penalty, women's rights, forced disppearances, globalization, migration and asylum. Site contains news on each area of focus, information on intergovernmental organizations, and copies of financial statements.

  6. Laogai Research Foundation [China]

    In English. In 1992, the Laogai Research Foundation was established to gather information and spread public awareness on the Chinese Laogai (work camps). The Foundation publishes an annual Laogai Handbook, newsletters, special investigative reports, as well as assisting television media in preparing documentary films on the Laogai. Since its inception, the LRF has expanded its focus to document and report on other systemic human rights violations in China, including public executions, organ harvesting from executed prisoners, the coercive enforcement of China's population control policy, and persecution of religious believers. Contains reports, list of publications, survivor stories, and photographs.

    In English. Formed in 1996, organization first Tibetan non-governmental human rights organization to be established in exile in India. Itaims to promote and protect human rights of the Tibetan people in Tibet. Contains reports, news articles, and newsletter.

  8. Youth Human Rights Movement [Russia]

    In Russian and English. English portion of site contains program description and news articles. YHRM is comprised of members from 30 Russian states whose areas of focus include racial and ethnic intolerance, army service, voter rights, and youth rights. YHRM's registration revoked in 2007, but then registration committee later acknowledged this as unlawful and reinstated registration.
