Formed in 1992, the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee is a non-governmental organization that aims to promote respect for the human rights of every individual, to stimulate legislative reform to bring Bulgarian legislation in line with international human rights standards, to trigger public debate on human rights issues, to carry out advocacy for the protection of human rights, and to popularise and make widely available human rights instruments. The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights of the Republic of Macedonia is a non-governmental organization which major duty is to observe and inform, on local and international level, on the respect of the human rights, in accordance with the provisions of the Helsinki Final Act and other international standards for the respect of human rights. It provides free legal aid upon citizen submitted complains, undertakes casework, legal initiatives, researches, disseminations on human rights, organizes conferences, seminars, and trainings.
