  1. Burma Issues: Information for Action, Campaign for Peace, Grassroots Education and Organizing

Burma Issues is a project of the Peace Way Foundation, founded in 1990 and acts as a private, a non-profit organisation devoted to a peaceful resolution to Burma's struggle for human rights and democratic rule. Contains videos, reports (PDF), photographs, newsletters (PDF), documentation centre database, and information about the project.

Formed in 1992, CODHES is a non-governmental organization that promotes human rights in Colombia, with a special emphasis in assisting those who have been violently displaced by the internal conflict and state violence. Contains bulletins, statistics, reports, list of publications, calendar of events, and links to other resources.

  4. Free Burma Rangers

    In English and Thai. Formed in 1997, the FBR aims to bring help, hope and love to people of all faiths and ethnicities in the war zones of Burma, to shine a light on the actions of the dictators' army, to stand with the oppressed, and to support leaders and organizations committed to liberty, justice and service. They conduct relief, advocacy, leadership development and unity missions among the people of Burma. FBR coordinates their activities with all relevant organizations and conducts missions in areas where their presence is requested. They operate with the pro-democracy authorities in their operational areas. The teams trained and resourced, belong to the relevant pro-democracy organizations and areas in which the teams serve.   5. Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre

    In English. IDMC, established in 1998 by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) and based in Geneva, Switzerland, is the leading international body monitoring conflict-induced internal displacement worldwide. Activities include running an online database providing comprehensive information and analysis on internal displacement in some 50 countries. Based on its monitoring and data collection activities, the Centre advocates for durable solutions to the plight of the internally displaced in line with international standards. The IDMC also carries out training activities to enhance the capacity of local actors to respond to the needs of internally displaced people (IDPs). In its work, the Centre cooperates with and provides support to local and national civil society initiatives.   6. Karen Human Rights Group [Burma]

    In English. KHRG documents the human rights situation in rural Burma by working directly with rural villagers who are suffering abuses such as forced labour, systematic destruction of villages and crops, forced relocation, extortion, looting, arbitrary detention, torture, sexual assault and summary executions. The vast majority of these abuses are committed by soldiers and officials of the State Peace & Development Council (SPDC), Burma's ruling military junta. KHRG trains and equips local people to document villagers' stories and gather evidence of human rights abuses; disseminate this information worldwide; and work directly with local villagers in enhancing their strategies to resist human rights abuses.
