    In English. Since 1992, LICADHO has been at the forefront of efforts to protect human rights in Cambodia and to promote respect for civil and political rights by the Cambodian government and institutions. Building on its past achievements, LICADHO continues to be an advocate for the people and a monitor of the government through wide-ranging human rights programs from its main office in Phnom Penh and 12 provincial offices. Primary issue areas for this NGO include torture, children's rights, women's rights, prisoner's rights and human rights education. The website includes news, reports and primary testimonies.

Founded in 1989 through the initiative of Samuel Ruiz García, catholic bishop of the Diocese of San Cristóbal de las Casas, Frayba works in defense and promotion of human rights, especially for the indigenous villages and communities in the state of Chiapas, Mexico.

The website includes materials related to various project areas, such as prisons, racism, xenophobia, women, seniors, and police. The site also links to news articles and to a human rights library of background documents for the human rights movement.

    In Farsi and English. The Change for Equality campaign is designed to connect Iranian women activists and strengthen their efforts for legal recognition of gender equality in Iran. The site contains interviews of leading activists, news coverage, support for activists jailed or persecuted in other ways and analysis of important steps in legal reform.

  7. China Tian Wang Human Rights Service

    In Chinese and some English. Began in 1999 as a web service for missing persons searches. Conducts human rights activity in 30 mainland provinces and cities.

  8. Chronicles of Turkmenistan

    In Turkmen, Russian, English. The Helsinki Group of Turkmenistan was founded in July 2002 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The group was forced to operate underground but nevertheless its members were systematically persecuted and repressed by the Turkmen authorities, and finally were forced to go into exile.
    The Turkmen Initiative for Human Rights (TIHR), the successor organization, was established as an independent public organization and registered in November 2004 in Vienna, Austria. The site contains materials on specific subject areas such as freedom of speech and assembly and the rights of ethnic minorities. In addition, articles, news and general reports on human rights are available.

    In French, Arabic, English, Spanish. CNLT addresses issues of political freedom and civil liberties in Tunisia. Their site contains newsletters, reports, and the organization's founding documents.

    In English and Spanish. Coalición de Derechos Humanos is a grassroots organization which promotes respect for human/civil rights and fights the militarization of the Southern Border region, discrimination, and human rights abuses by federal, state, and local law enforcement officials affecting U.S. and non-U.S. citizens alike. Contains information on organization's projects, press releases and educational materials for download, news and events listing, and videos.
