Founded in 1990, the MRF, a Bulgarian political party, formed to represent the interests of the Turkish ethnic minority, but has since broadened its goals and platform to embrace all issues of civil rights in Bulgaria, aiming "to contribute to the unity of the Bulgarian people and to the full and unequivocal compliance with the rights and freedoms of mankind and of all religious and cultural communities in Bulgaria". Site contains news, policy information, documents, organizational structure and information on the 2007 election.

  3. Free Burma Rangers

    In English and Thai. Formed in 1997, the FBR aims to bring help, hope and love to people of all faiths and ethnicities in the war zones of Burma, to shine a light on the actions of the dictators' army, to stand with the oppressed, and to support leaders and organizations committed to liberty, justice and service. They conduct relief, advocacy, leadership development and unity missions among the people of Burma. FBR coordinates their activities with all relevant organizations and conducts missions in areas where their presence is requested. They operate with the pro-democracy authorities in their operational areas. The teams trained and resourced, belong to the relevant pro-democracy organizations and areas in which the teams serve. Site contains informational materials for download, a memorial site for deceased FBR members, team leader reports and other documents for download, maps, and photographs.

  4. H.I.J.O.S. Guatemala: Hijos e Hijas por la Identidad y la Justicia contra el Olvido y el Silencio / H.I.J.O.S. Guatemala: Sons and Daughters for Identity and Justice Against Silence and Forgetting

    In Spanish. Contains art gallery related to the disappeared as well as a photo gallery of some of the disappeared. This organization is run as a collective and subsists solely on donations. It focuses on promoting human rights, justice and activities that denounce state violence in Guatemala. They are specially focused on activities with the youth. members of HIJOS are continuously subject to threats that they should cease their educational and legal activities denouncing state violence (especially the involvement of the military in Human Rights Violations). In June 2008, according to Protectionline - Observatorio para la Proteccion de los Defensores de DDHH, organization members received death threats. Threats come from unidentified persons who are believed to be linked with the military.

  7. Kenya National Commission on Human Rights: Enhancing the Realisation of Your Rights

    In English. The KNCHR is an Independent National Institution established by an Act of Parliament to lead in protecting and promoting human rights in Kenya. The Commission focuses on investigating complaints, providing redress, campaigns and advocacy, research,policy and legislation, economic,social and cultural rights, education and capacity building and institutional strengthening. Director was investigated by the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission, possibly related to the organization investigations of government corruption. The Hungarian Helsinki Committee monitors the enforcement in Hungary of human rights enshrined in international human rights instruments, provides legal defence to victims of human rights abuses by state authorities and informs the public about rights violations. The website contains news articles and publications regarding various issue areas - refugees, law enforcement, access to justice, and ethnic minorities.

    In English. MRG is a non-governmental organization that works with 130 partners in over 60 countries to ensure that disadvantaged minorities and indigenous people can make their voices heard. Through training and education, legal cases, publications and the media, we support minority and indigenous people as they strive to maintain their rights to the land they live on, the languages they speak, to equal opportunities in education and employment, and to full participation in public life.
