OCLC WorldCat:
This database is an online catalog of the holdings of books, journals, and other materials held by thousands of  libraries (most within the United States).  UT Austin  researchers can identify and locate materials in other libraries and collections using WorldCat, and order these materials by making an Inter-Library Service request.

Off Campus Access:
The setup of an Internet browser to allow current UT Austin students, faculty and staff to gain off campus access to subscription based electronic resources.  See Also: Proxy Service.

Online Catalog:
An electronic or digitized version of a library's card catalog. The UT Austin online catalog is called the UTNetCAT.

Online Database:
A searchable, electronic database of either full text documents or citations and abstractsSee Also: Periodical Index


OPAC:
Acronym for Online Public Access Catalog. See Online Catalog.

Overdue:
An item checked out from the library that has not been returned or renewed by its due date

Oversize:
 
Physically large items that are often shelved apart from the regular sized books.  Call numbers for oversized books  may be  preceded by -F- or -Q-, for example, -Q- TL 509 I63 1977 PCL Stacks.
