Hold:
 
 
A hold is a request to have a particular item held for the requestor when that item is returned to the library. A hold request does not change the due date or fine rate, but does prevent the current borrower from renewing the item. To put a book on hold the requestor must submit a paper hold/recall request form to the circulation desk at the owning library.

Holdings:
 
 
Volumes, copies and/or issues owned by the library.  The UTNetCAT Brief Display format includes holdings information for items available in the University of Texas Libraries.
