Charles Woodruff, Jr. has been an independent consulting geologist since 1983. Having operated as a sole propietorship from 1983 until 1999, he incorporated as a Woodruff Geologic Consulting, Inc. on 4 May 1999. This consulting practice entails site-specific and region-wide assessments of land, water, and mineral resources and has involved more than 400 clients and projects, with focus on the geolology, hydrology, and rock/mineral resources along the Balcones Escarpment of Central Texas.
Selected professional and civic activities include: President, Austin Geological Society (1980-1981) and Distringuished Service Award from that Society (1997); Chairman, City of Austin Environmental Board (1983-1984); Member, Travis County Water Council of the Lower Colorado River Authority (1988-1990).
Publications include more than 110 reports, monographs, abstracts, and maps on the environments and resources of Texas. This publication list includes prinicipal contributions to more than 20 field-trip guidebooks to various sites in Central Texas.
