Available Equipment
Workstations
- 15 PCs with DVD/CD-RW drives including Windows 7, Office 2010 Suite, Adobe Creative Suite 5
- 15 Macs with DVD-RW/CD-RW drives including OSX, Office 2008, Adobe Creative Suite 5, iTunes, iMovieHD
- Audio editing stations:
- 1 each Mac and PC, same configuration as above plus Audacity/Peak Pro software, DAT, cassette and M-Audio input interface.
- Video editing stations:
- 2 Macs same configuration as above plus DVD +/- R, RW drives with iMovie HD and iDVD. Hardware includes S-VHS deck and Mini DV, DHDV decks.
- Scanning stations:
- 3 PCs same configuration as above plus Epson/Nikon scanning programs. Hardware includes one flatbed and two slide scanners.
- 2 Macs same configuration as above plus scanning programs (e.g. Nikon Scan). One includes flatbed scanner and the other has a slide scanner.
- TVs with built-in DVD/VHS players. In addition one has S-VHS and Worldwide player attached. Another has LaserDisc and U-Matic players attached.
- 1 Listening/Dubbing station with turntable, dual cassette, and CD player.
Wireless Access is available throughout the library.
Printing is available from all of our stations, including color printing. To print you will need a copy card which can be purchased on the 3rd floor of the FAL. Cost per page is .13 for black-and-white and .80 for color.
Bevo Bucks accepted at the printing station at the west end of the row of computers nearest the current periodicals.

Laptop Checkout
The Fine Arts Library Circulation Desk has Dell laptops available for checkout to students with a current UT ID card. Laptops are checked out on a first-come, first-served basis and may be used both inside and outside the library. Only one laptop may be checked out per person.
Once checked out, the laptops are the borrower's responsibility. The borrower will be held liable for any replacement costs associated with damage, loss or theft of the laptop or laptop equipment. Please do not leave a laptop unattended, as thefts occur on campus.
Laptops are available for overnight checkout. Laptops must be returned to the FAL Circulation Desk 24 hours after they are checked out. Please keep in mind that if a laptop is not returned on time, fines will accrue and a processing fee will be charged. Contact the FAL Circulation Desk at 495-4481 with questions or concerns.
Hardware and Software:
We have several Dell Latitude E5400 laptops with Windows 7 and Mac laptops with OS X v10.6.4 available for check out. All have Microsoft Office 2010, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
