In the changing political climate of South Africa, the film highlights a revolution that is taking place as artists, musicians and designers tackle issues of politics, race and history. The film follows some of the most recognized artists in South Africa today, exploring what it means to live and work in the new democracy, 20 years after the end of apartheid.
Dr. Eddie Chambers (Art and Art History, Center for Center for African and African American Studies) will introduce the film and field questions from the audience following the film.
A reception with light refreshments will precede the screening at 5:30 to 6:00 PM
The film series highlights the expansive audio-visual collection at the Fine Arts Library — including its new online streaming service, now available for teaching — which faculty like Dr. Chambers use in their classes.
