WHERE: Fine Arts Library (DFA 3.200) at The University of Texas at Austin BACKGROUND: The next installment of the Excessive Noise concert series taking place this Halloween at the Fine Arts Library promises a frighteningly good time. “Hallows’ Eve” will will feature the Butler School of Music's Graduate Saxophone Quartet, violist Olivia Davis, UT's early music ensemble Austinato, and the award-winning wind quintet Quintexas (comprised alumni and grad students). Music by Butler alum Russell Podgorsek and current DMA student Alex Heppelmann will be performed. Excessive Noise is an occasional concert series hosted by the Fine Arts Library. Curated by Russell Podgorsek, the series provides students with an opportunity to perform chamber and solo works beyond those required by their degree programs, and for the premier of original works beyond the classroom. While generally in the classical vein, Excessive Noise features work from a variety of traditions and perspectives. Free and open to the public, and $6 parking permits are available for attendees of College of Fine Arts events.
