About 15 species of rock daisy can be found in Texas, almost all of them restricted to cliff faces and rock outcrops (only one, Texas Perityle, P. vaseyi, routinely grows in dirt). Lindheimer's rock daisy grows on dry limestone cliffs on the Edwards Plateau and blooms off and on throughout the year.
