Pink Prairie Clover Dalea tenuifolia
Pea family — Fabaceae
Slides: (click for larger view)
There are many species of prairie clover in Texas, and, as the name suggests, they are partial to grassland habitats. Until recently they were separated as a separate genus (Petalostemon), rather than being included in the genus Dalea as at present. The species shown here is common in the Panhandle and flowers in the late spring through mid summer.
