Feather dalea is one of the most nondescript low shrubs imaginable until flowering transforms it into a mass of rose-pink or rose-purple. The fragrant flowers can appear any time from April through September, depending on conditions. Feather dalea is a very common shrub of dry, rocky hillsides and shallow soils in various parts of the western half of the state.
