The yellow stonecrop in an annual succulent with small fleshy leaves. Here it is shown (with a cactus) in a typical habitat, growing directly on rock, although it also grows in sandy or clayey soils. it is found from the Edwards Plateau to the post oak savannas of central-east Texas and into north Texas. It often forms large patches and blooms in spring or early summer.
