Introduction

In this tutorial, the goal is to find information about vibration control and cable stayed bridges. The tutorial covers:

• searching for books on a topic
• searching for journal articles and conference papers
• finding reliable sources of information on the Internet

In this investigation, we will use the services and resources of UT Library Online, the General Libraries web site; we will look at government agencies and professional associations as possible sources of information; and also consider the benefits and risks of searching the Internet for information to support academic research.
