Introduction

In this tutorial, the goal is to identify a company involved in a controversy, do some research into issues surrounding the controversy, and find out more about the company's corporate culture and values.

The tutorial covers:

• where to look to find information on a company involved in a controversy
• sources of background and technical information including patents, industry standards, and articles that may be useful in understanding issues surrounding a controversy
• where to look for information on corporate values and culture, business ethics, etc.

In this investigation, we will use the resources of the University of Texas Libraries and consider the benefits and risks of searching the Internet for information to support academic research.
