Digital Assets Discussion Group: Procedures
DLSD is in the process of creating written procedures on a variety of
tasks related to digital assets and the Digital Assets Management System.
These procedures are being developed based on current best practices in
the field of digital reformatting and are being shared and discussed with
the Digital Assets Discussion Group. Tasks that will be covered include:
- Digital imaging of:
- Transparencies (slides, black and white negatives)
- Oversized materials (maps)
- Digital reformatting of three-dimensional objects
- Color and black and white photographs
- Interaction with the Digital Assets Management System (DAMS)
- Submitting collections for deposit
- Creating and submitting metadata for the Metadata Registry
Currently, drafts of some procedures are available for review.
