Task Force - Minutes - Resources - Join The Discussion Digital Assets Discussion Group - Intellectual Property Task ForceKG Branding ProposalAny site funded by (even in part) or otherwise selected for inclusion in the Knowledge Gateway will include a KG brand (image). The brand will be as unobtrusive as possible but will be as prominently placed as possible. Additionally, the site must include the University of Texas wordmark, see below. [From the KG Grant Criteria at http://gateway.utexas.edu/grant/grant_criteria.html that says, in part...] The main page (and all subsequent pages in the site) must include the University of Texas wordmark, which links back to The University of Texas home page (www.utexas.edu) and a Knowledge Gateway logo, which will be provided and which links back to the Knowledge Gateway home page (gateway.utexas.edu). An example of the University wordmark and its use can be seen on the third level Web Central templates . Please note that these examples include the University wordmark but not the Knowledge Gateway logo. Projects funded through the Knowledge Gateway must be housed on servers in the utexas.edu domain.] Scenario 1Site that has received all or most of its funding from KG. Will follow the directions above. Site is being created or planned. Should have brand and wordmark on upper half of pages, preferably in a primary header and secondary header that appears on subsquent pages. Example: The K-12 Fun Site Scenario 2Site that has received a small portion of its funding from KG. Site is either being created or already exists. Should have wordmark and KG brand on every page. Can be anywhere on page but preferably on upper half of each page. Example: Butterflies of Texas Scenario 3Site that has been selected for KG but has received no funding from KG. Site probably already exists. Inclusion of a wordmark and brand will necessitate changes to existing layout, templates, etc. It is strongly suggested that these sites include the wordmark and brand on *at least* the home page of the site. Preferably, they will be included on subsequent pages but this is not mandatory. Example: Dino Pits Scenario 4Site is a UT Austin site, but does NOT have a utexas.edu domain (they went and registered one on their own.) Examples: http://www.blantonmuseum.org, http://www.digimorph.org, http://www.texasreading.org/ Scenario 5Site is a UT System component: MD Anderson Science Park, http://sciencepark.mdanderson.org/ (not certain what the official relationship is between MD Anderson and UT Austin) The College of Pharmacy out of UT Austin also has faculty all over the state at various UT components) Scenario 6Site has been created as a collaborative effort between schools or organizations (example, Berkeley and UT Austin create a joint project). Example: Children's Digital Media Center: http://www.digital-kids.net/ (Consortium of 4 major universities: Georgetown, UCLA, Northwestern, UT Austin
