The University of Texas
Emily Knauss Endowment bookplate

Established in May 1995, through a bequest of the Estate of Mrs. Emily H. Knauss. A portion of the bequest, totaling approximately $400,000, funds the Emily Knauss Library Endowment for the Liberal Arts to be administered by the University of Texas Libraries. Investment proceeds from the endowment are used to support the acquisition of research books and manuscripts relevant to the liberal arts. Her bequest provided a similar amount of funding for the Emily Knauss Graduate Scholarship for Liberal Arts to support graduate student scholarships. This endowment will be administered by the Office of Graduate Studies.

Mrs. Knauss earned a B.A. degree in History from The University in 1922. She died on February 10, 1994.
